I’m Miya Virgil, an illustrator and creative from PG County, Maryland. My work celebrates Black culture, memory, and identity through visual storytelling rooted in community. I create with intention—not just about my people, but for them—centering Blackness in both concept and execution. My goal is to become an art director and lead projects that reflect our presence, power, and perspective across all creative spaces. I want bits of my identity everywhere—unapologetically.
Looking ahead, I dream of building a physical space for that same energy to live. An art café designed as a creative home for Black artists—a lounge-style studio where materials are accessible, ideas are shared freely, and workshops feel less like classrooms and more like community. By day, it’s a space to create, learn, and connect. By night, it transforms into a bar-gallery where artists can showcase, sell, and celebrate their work. At its core, the goal is simple: to make art feel communal, accessible, and rooted in us.
